Risorta? O in realtà mai scomparsa?

E a voler bene a tutti.

Siamo amici, ci incontriamo».

Celebrities: Donna Summer....

I never left show business and my biography Ordinary Girl will become a movie. I learnt to coexist with fame.

Call it a come back? Or never really gone? D.S. the queen of disco and sex symbol in the 70's after almost 30 years since her triumphant appearances at "la Bussola" historic concert venue on the Tuscany Riviera opens up about many secrets and her great admiration for Sophia Loren.

HOUSE NEIGHBOURS
"It has been the more important encounter of my career. And it is always present in my thoughts. I think of her as one my great friends and in Los Angeles our houses are very close. Our children know each other and have been friends for a long time . From Sophia I have learnt a lot,how to cope with fame and how to coexist with being a celebrity, because I must admit that i was not prepared or able to deal with it. She has taught to me how not to be caught up in it , how to stay calm and to take it in strides.. To always be myself and not to have fear of the public. How to love and respect everybody. She is truly the sweetest woman.

GREAT CONQUEST
Donna Summer has been away from Italy for a long time. "I have returned for Dolce and Gabbana. For many years I looked after my three daughters and now i am also a grandmother of two. Normally, for an artist, is indeed a great conquest. I think of myself as humble, love simple things, aware of my insecurities, proud and thankful of my talent, deeply in love with my family ".

The comeback of Donna Summer has a lot to do with the return in fashion of disco that back in the Seventies many critics considered trash. "But how can you consider trash songs like" Mac Arthur Park and " I Remember Yesterday "... My music always has been rather symphonic, with many violins and strings. It may seem that my songs have a simple structure, the truth is they are very complicated to execute. As far as the intellectuals, and the critics go, well, it looks like back then they didn't really understand the impact of my music but it seems there is a new found appreciation for it.. Many are remained amazed when at some of my concerts, i sing and perform with a real symphonic orchestra ".

Today the sound may have changed, nevertheless Donna Summer music and sound are still alive "I am aware of being very lucky.... My music - at least in the imaginary collective of the American public - has become evergreen, as iconic as much of Frank Sinatra's songs.... I am proud of my music ....think of Gaynor or The Ritchie Family...my career has always been different from theirs, almost unique. I float between Europe and United States, and always return in Europe. And I continue to have a great relationship Giorgio Moroder. We are friends, we meet often"....
.....The ups and downs of my career... "Yes, but decided by me. There have been moments in which they were intentional, I wanted to take a break, away from the spotlight.. i took time off to write my book. In America it is much more difficult to be famous, you cant allow yourself to stop or take a break. I was not in a position to work non stop for five years in a row. Other artists made it through with help of drugs in order to succeed, to put up with the demands of a crazy schedule. I got married, took time to look after my family. I have continued to work for small labels, but perhaps people were not aware of that ".

A LOOK AT THE NEW GENERATIONS
"I did a duet on with Joss Stone. But I appreciate other young people like Beyonce, Alicia Keys. They are indeed good performers and in America they are very famous ". For years Summer has been living in Nashville. And she watches with worry the great record industries that are disintegrated through mergers...only caring about making money......

Its a tragic situation But the public will have always be hungry for music, because music is part pf the human spirit. Unfortunately today many artists make music only to make money....
.... from my point of view, its more .important that an artist knows how to perform....its not enough to record your voice in the studio.... I admit that many artists today earn money this way while I think its indispensable to know how to perform and sing live , in front of a real audience".

PRET- A- PORTER
The fashion world is responsible for her return to Italy. "I have always loved beautiful ones dresses, which woman doesn't? I confess I own a couple of dresses by Dolce and Gabbana worth 35.00 usd each. I have advised they to think about designing for "the normal" women, and not only for anorexic supermodels. I could be a testimonial and model for them!. There are actually lots of normal women with tons of money ... it could be great business for the designers. In order to design my dresses not only they asked for my size but surfed a web site in which all my measurements were specified: there was every particular detail about my body ...

Plans for the future? "a new album to reconquer Europe after 30 years...
