Moon Flowers & Mini-Skirts by Peter Thomas (Marina, 1998)
This is a compilation of songs recorded  in the late 60s to early 70s. Donna's song was taken from a German television show called 11 Uhr 20, where she had a cameo as a nightclub diva.

Black Power (P.Thomas/G.Francropolus)

Donna Summer, Donna Summer And Other Friends, Donna Summer Live, Funstreet, I Love To Dance, Na Na Hey Hey, Nice To See You, Pearls Of The Past, Remixed And Early Greats, Shout It Out, Summer Night, and who knows how many other titles....
These are all the same collection of songs released on various labels at various times. The songs were all recorded before 1974 and in many cases have been obviously altered to bring out Donna's voice. She sings lead on some songs and backup on others. There are two versions of this collection. The first version showed up in the late 80s and it runs 35-40 minutes. A second remixed version came out in the early 90s and it runs 50-55 minutes. Both versions are constantly reissued under different names and with different covers, so you never really know what you're going to get - although I believe that it is the 90s version that pops up the most. [Editorial comment: I DO NOT recommend this album to anyone. It is NOT a good example of Donna's artistry, and I have heard that she was angry when she found out about it's release. Having said that, I know that die-hard fans are going to buy it anyway - like I did! So my advice to all you fans out there is to get it for the lowest price possible, and try to get whatever version has the nicest, or most interesting cover art, if you have a choice. Or better yet, see if you can find the original Veit Marvos LP the tracks came from - then you will hear them as they were meant to be heard.]

Love Machine (HOAX, 2000)
Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, producers.
The story is that this album was recorded in 1975 and although  about 100 demos were distributed in Europe, the album was never officially released. All but the title track were recycled onto other projects, and all tracks were written by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte with Donna's input. However, as it turns out - the album is a COMPLETE HOAX. It was an April Fool's joke that got out of hand. I have to say that the guy who did it sure made it look authentic - he had me fooled.

It is likely that this album was either produced or co-produced by Donna Summer. [Since posting this I have received information that Donna produced the song Watching Daddy Dance with Bruce Sudano and that she co-produced the other songs with Juergen Koppers. Also there are additional songs that may have been written for the album, but never recorded - "What Are You Saying"(M.Bernard/V.Hicks/J.Mumford), "Jealous Eyes" (V.Hicks/D.Aston/M.Bernard)]

If any of the songwriters want to stand up and take credit for the songs that don't have a writing credit listed - drop me a line.  :-) When the album came out in 2007 4 updated remixes by OUTpsiDER were added.)
